Training is key to the successful and safe operation of any anaerobic digestion facility, both for operators and managers alike.
It is important to understand that although any plant is mechanically and electrically controlled, the process itself is biological and must be treated carefully. Operators should have a basic understanding of the biological process occurring within the digester, and comprehend the importance of quality feedstocks.
Operators should have a grasp of daily checks and records that need to be made, and regular maintenance that is required around the site.
It is also imperative that operators are aware and understand the operational hazards and adhere to the DSEAR zoned areas.
Environmental regulations must be followed, including any certification schemes such as the Digestate Quality Protocol and the PAS110.
Marches Biogas can offer operator training to cover specific areas of interest or cover multiple topics. This can be delivered through classroom sessions at our offices or practical sessions at a local site. Alternatively, we can provide training on location at a client’s site or classroom facilities.
Marches Biogas will also be launching a series of e-learning courses which will allow operators and managers to learn at their convenience in their own time.
