Biological and process monitoring is key to maintaining biological stability, efficient biogas production as well as a constant energy output.
Marches Biogas offer a range of biological services, both as part of proactive support agreements, as well as reactive advice to process issues. These services are open to all AD facilities.

Laboratory Services
At Marches Biogas we have our own laboratory where we have the facility to carry out a variety of tests and analyses for specific indicators of process health. These tests are performed as soon as samples reach the lab and we work closely with external laboratories for more in-depth or site specific analysis.
Proactive Biological Support
We promote regular sampling of digester contents to build up a picture of each digester’s unique biological operating characteristics which over time helps to quickly diagnose any possible downturns in biological health and prevent longer term problems.
Results are reported online and any key issues are discussed with the operator who is given advice and recommendations. Quarterly reports provide the operator with a summary of the plant’s health together with their key performance indicators, including total electrical and heat output for that month.

Reactive Biological Support
Anaerobic digesters can become destabilised for a variety of reasons, including over feeding or poisoning through feedstock contamination. Marches Biogas can provide bespoke reactive biological support in these circumstances in order to help the operator regain process health as quickly as possible.
