Siloxane Removal System Maintenance and Media Change
Siloxane Removal System Maintenance and Media Change
Dwr Cymru commissioned Marches Biogas Ltd to manage the maintenance works and media change of the Parker PpTEK Siloxane Removal System’s (SRS) at Afan WwTW and Five Fords WwTW.
Acting as the principal contractor, Marches Biogas sub contracted Parker PpTek to carry out the filter media change. In order to allow Parker PpTek to safely work on the SRS Marches Biogas firstly had to isolate the system from the biogas holder, CHP and other associated biogas equipment before purging the SRS and associated pipework with oxygen free nitrogen. Once Parker PpTek had completed the media change and carried out any system component checks Marches Biogas repurged the pipework and SRS to allow the safe recommissioning of the unit.
Throughout the time onsite, Marches Biogas staff were responsible for the Health & Safety of all parties and ensured that all procedures documented in the risk assessments and method statements, submitted to Dwr Cymru prior to the works, were followed.
