Environmental Complicance and Regulatory Support
Marches Biogas has experience of supporting AD facilities with environmental permitting applications, environmental audits, developing environmental management systems and applying for the Digestate Quality Protocol and PAS110 certification process. We work closely with the regulators and certification boards to fully comprehend the requirements of the permits and schemes.
Marches Biogas can advise on the environmental permitting requirements for AD facilities, whether you are applying for the first time or looking to change or vary your permit. The regulatory and permitting support team is well placed to understand the requirements of the applications and can provide assistance or manage the entire process for you, including site audits and quarterly and annual waste returns. A permitted site is required to have an operational environmental management system (EMS), Marches Biogas has developed its own EMS which is simple for operators to implement and is accepted by the Environment Agency.
Marches Biogas also offer a service to aid sites wishing to gain PAS110 certification, & comply with the digestate quality protocol, by creating and implementing a Quality Management System, identifying the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Plan. A sampling service is also offered both during and after the validation process. Support can be provided with ensuring that the ongoing obligations of the scheme are fulfilled, including annual audits.
Marches Biogas has assisted many clients with their regulatory requirements, including Peter Jones who has a Standard Permit for his 250kWe On-Farm AD Plant. “Marches Biogas support us with our ongoing obligations relating to our environmental permit and have helped us to develop a positive relationship with our local EA officers. This allows us to focus on the safe operation of our plant and know that we have peace of mind that we are complying with the regulations.” Peter Jones, Manor Farm, Wistanstow.
