Aston Lower Hall Farm Environmental Permitting
Aston Lower Hall Farm Environmental Permitting
The 500kWe semi plug flow digester at Aston Lower Hall was designed, built and commissioned by Marches Biogas in 2015.
As part of any Anaerobic Digestion project which is digesting waste, in this case the waste being cow slurry, an Environmental Permit is required. Facilities operating under an Environmental Permit must have specific documentation and systems in place to ensure compliance with the regulations.
Marches Biogas assisted the operators at Aston Lower Hall with this process by assisting them to put together an appropriate Environmental Management System and ensure that all their documentation was complete and kept up to date. On the day of the Environment Agency audit Marches Biogas were present in order to support the operator.
‘Marches Biogas has a full comprehension of what is required to fulfil the requirements for plant operation under an Environmental Permit. Marches guided us through the process and the audit went smoothly without any major concerns.’
Rob Thomasson, Plant Manager, MJ & MC Thomasson.
