Normally when you have a manufacturing plant the by-products produced can be a problem; what to do with them? How do you try to create some interest from someone (or indeed anyone!) to take them away? But that’s not the case with an AD plant where our by-product is a wonderful liquid that our farmers love; Digestate!
Now digestate is a fantastic product, it's full of plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphate and potash, as well as other little goodies such as magnesium and sulphur that the farmers crops really want. Those of us who have AD plants know of these benefits, we have all seen the lush growth that occurs after an application.
But are we getting the best out of it? Are there things we could do better to maximise the crop uptake and subsequent yield? To start to answer these questions we need to know what’s in it and that’s where Marches can help. We can carry out analysis to calculate the nutrient content, not only does this help to work out the crop benefit but can also point out some of the difficult compounds in there that can cause other issues such as odour. This can help with taking a holistic look at the AD plant and determine how the process as a whole can be improved to help energy production, refine the digestate makeup and make sure the crops have the perfectly balanced fertiliser they want and need.
So if you really want to maximise the crop benefit and your AD process, give us a call and we can have a look, take a sample and advise you how we think you can make the most of your liquid gold!
